Rebecca Canter, DMD

Your dentist is a member of the doctor mastery program

Dr. Canter, DMD is an esteemed member of the Doctor Mastery Program. The five-year program consists of clinical training conducted by world renowned clinicians, from building on foundational skills and advancing to mastery of the most complex dental care.

Dr Canter grew up in Pike County Illinois, the daughter of J.B. and Naomi Carnes, graduating in 1984 from Griggsville High School. She graduated from Illinois Weslayan University with a degree in biology in 1988. In college, she worked in the registrar's office, was involved in campus activities, and was a member of the Eta Chapter of Sigma Kappa. In dental school, at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine she met her husband, Dr. Craig Canter. They were lab partners and married in December of 1990. After graduating they came to Beardstown. The Canters have three children, Julie Anne, who is a 2010 graduate of Rushville-Industry High School ,a 2014 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and first year student at University of Illinois Medical School. Jack is a 2012 graduate of Rushville-Industry High School and a junior at Illinois Wesleyan University majoring in biology. And Emily is 13 years old and an eighth grader at Schuyler Industry Middle School and enjoys being the youngest.

The Canters are members of the First Christian Church in Beardstown. Dr Canter is a past board member for the Rocket booster club , clover clan 4H leader for more than 10 years, and past president of the GU chapter of PEO in Beardstown. She cherishes time with her family and friends. She loves to cook, bake and water sports. Dr Canter and her team love to treat the whole family. They enjoy learning new things at continuing education classes and the relationship they have with their patients.
